Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010 starts tomorrow!!! Yes!!! Jimmy Choo’s shoes for H&M are real leather! All the shoes, which include over-the-knee boots, zebra-print stilettos, open-toe booties, and a few flat styles, are all real leather. Most styles are under $200 (the over the knee boots are $300) and stores across the city and one in California are stocked up.  The line rolled out this week and hundreds of people camped out as early as 3 a.m. to make sure they got their “Choo fix”.  Was it worth it?

OK, these pumps are from a couple seasons ago, but they were very popular among stars like Beyonce, so I want to get your opinions.  I personally don’t have a place for something like this in my closet, space is tight in NYC!  The colors are cool but the design and materials are so bulky and weird.  I appreciate that the Balenciaga designer took inspiration from snowboarding boots, but sometimes things are lost in translation.  They’re a bit too sporty and not feminine enough and there’s just too much going on with the mesh, zippers, studs…  The most hideous part about the whole thing is the price that these pumps sold at- $4000!!! Then Steve Madden created their knock-off version and brought the price down to about $200, but still about $150 more then they’re worth.

 The Paris Fashion Show is cutting edge when it comes to crazy clothes, shoes, make-up and hair. Here is where the top fashion houses (Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Lanvin…) show off their eccentric designs in the most outrageous runway shows.  The hair and make-up are usually hideous, because nothing says haute couture like Joker make-up and bedhead hair.  Anyway, it is what it is, but lets not forget that at the end of it all the clothes and shoes seen at these shows are setting  the path for the rest of the fashion industry to follow.  Whether you like the big shoulder pads and elephant shoes or not, chances are you’ll be wearing some mutation of them in the next year.  Sometimes, though, designers like Valentino and Miu Miu like to focus on their clothes and not on making a spectacle of the whole thing, and they tend to bring us some fabulous looks that we can all relate to. Here are some of the latest shoes from the Paris Runways, you decide if you love it or hate it.
