Catherine Malandrino

Catherine Malandrino's Fall 2010 presentation, held in a Chelsea art gallery, allowed all attendees to get a close-up look of the collection. According to the show notes, Malandrino believes today's woman "must simultaneously embody strength, ease and raw femininity". Her silhouettes are "at once powerful and primal" combining goat hair, shearling and fox fur with cocoon-like construction.

Without a doubt Malandrino's shoes were some of the best shown all week. The pony-hair and animal prints compliment the animalistic untamed beauty encompassed by the whole collection. The horn-shaped toes and double platforms appear almost hoof-like.
