Carolina Herrera is known for glamorous gowns and fabulous accessories like hats and gloves, but her spring shoes will win her plenty new fans. Her designs unveiled during NY fashion week were geometric pieces of art with complicated lines and forms. Wooden pieces were held tight by thin leather strings atop tall curved heels. The biggest statement was not what we saw, but what was missing- platforms and flats that were widely seen at every other show. Herrera doesn’t buy into passing trends; she sticks to what she knows and that’s why her collections, top to bottom, are timeless.
