Popular for their timeless mix of comfort and style, wedges truly are a fashion necessity to the modern woman. Today’s wedges are fused with other show-stopping trends, like booties or clogs, to create a style that’s easy to wear and perfect for any occasion.
Wedges have played a key role in re-introducing the now popular again clogs. Designers from Diane von Furstenberg to Alexander Wang are quickly picking up on this trend, while, of course, creating their own interpretation of the style. Thanks to the fabulous addition of embellishments, like tassels or studs, a more modern twist has been established for the clog. Practical and trendy for summer, wedge clogs are perfect for everyday wear, whether paired with jeans or a light summer dress.
Another rising trend is the wedge bootie. Thanks to the casualness of the wedge, booties can now be worn during the day and can be paired with anything from leggings to dresses. Wedge booties can be most fun to wear during a night out on the town, as they create a strong statement amongst a crowd of heels. Slip on a pair of wedge booties and instantly give an outfit edge and distinctiveness.
